I scream, you scream, we all scream for an Ice-Cream Everyone loves Ice-Cream and children like it the most. An ice-cream party is a cool way to keep kids happy in this hot summer season. To beat the heat, GD Goenka Public School has celebrated Ice-Cream day for our little Goenkans on 12.7.2019. Children were very happy and their excitement for the party knew no bounds. They enjoyed the different flavours of Ice-Cream with their friends. Overall it was The Frozen Desserts, flavours and sweeteners that makes Ice-Cream children’s favourite summer delight. Tiny tots also prepared crafts in classrooms. It was a fun day.

A healthy smile can truly transform our visual appearance, the positivity of our mind-set, as well as improving the health of not only our mouth but our body too. G D Goenka Public School firmly believes in nurturing a healthy individual and therefore, celebrated Oral Hygiene Day on July 19, 2019. This year special stress was laid on Dental Hygiene. Dr Kapil Saroha, Head Dentist, Kapil Dental Clinic and Implant Center, Rohini was invited to apprise our students on the important tips on how to keep the teeth healthy. He also taught right brushing technique. A dental camp was also organized to check the dental health of the students. Tiny tots made craft to understand the importance of the healthy teeth. Principal, Ms. Shivani Sahni thanked the doctor and presented a sapling as small token of love.
In an earnest attempt to sensitize the students about their role in conserving environment,GD Goenka Public School, Bahadurgarh has celebrated Van Mahotsav week from 17 July to 23 July in the school campus. The celebration was an ideal opportunity to instil the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forests. The focus of the celebration was towards forming a personal connect between the students and trees and it was carried out through various activities. Teachers discussed the importance of the trees in the classrooms. Students of class I presented a special assembly to save trees and the tiny tots took a pledge to plant more trees. The toddlers of pre-primary section and classes I to III undertook kitchen garden plantation activity. They sowed coriander seeds. The purpose of the activity was to inculcate the habit of planting saplings by utilising small spaces available at home. In the busy cities open spaces are replaced by tall multi-storey buildings. There is urgent need to develop hanging gardens to improve the climatic condition. Keeping this in mind, the students from classes IV to VIII made hanging garden in the school premises. Students of classes VI to VIII participated in the rally on Najafgarh road to sensitize the local people about the importance of saving trees and growing more trees. Nukkad Natak depicting the importance of the trees was also staged in the market. Van Mahotsav week came up to be a great success. The events helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Students got to learn a lot and will always cherish the memories of this important occasion.
In continuation to the Inter-House activities, G D Goenka Public School Bahadurgarh organized an “Ad Mad Show Competition” on 29th July, 2019 for the students of classes IV and V. All the four houses presented one “Commercial Ad” and one “Social Ad”. The students from each house participated enthusiastically that was judged by the Honorable Principal, Mrs. Shivani Sahni, who appreciated the children for their spontaneous performance. The competition was judged on the basis of following criteria Originality Relevance to the theme Team Work Creativity Ability to attract audiences Props used In the category of “Commercial Ad” 1st position was bagged by Radhakrishnan House and 2nd position was bagged by Teresa House. In the category of “Social Ad” Teresa House secured 1st position, and Tagore House secured 2nd position. It was a fun-filled event.
‘A friend is on of the nicest things you can have and of the best things you can be.’ Truly said by the famous, Douglas Pagels. A friend is the only person who can turn a horrible day into the best ones by making you smile. He or she is the one with whom we can share everything. Undoubtedly, friends are an important part of our lives. In order to inculcate, enhance and enjoy the same emotions (of love and friendship) within the children, today the Goenkans celebrated one of the happiest days of love, care, affection and smiles i.e. the Friendship Day. The celebration was held class nursery onwards till class II. The children were made to understand the importance of friendship and a good life in their lives. Various craft activities like making cards, hand printing butterflies, friendship crowns and bands and also friendship trees. All the Goenkans enjoyed the activities under the good supervision and guidance of their respective teachers. Story of ‘Krisna and Sudama’ the two very good inspiring friends was also told by the teachers to enrich the moral part. Through it, the bond of love which two friends share with each other was been explained. Students promised to be a good friend, love and help others as they enjoyed the fun-packed day completely along with carrying an important message that one should choose good friends to lead a happy life. The day ended up with friendship bands and smiles on everyone’s face.

With the aim of inculcating the Goenkan vision of excellence and imparting the lesson of responsibility among the young minds, G D Goenka Public School, Bahadurgarh, has successfully formed its first ever Students' Council, the Investiture Ceremony for which was held on 6 August, 2019. The event was celebrated with pomp and show with the Chairpersons Mr. Rakesh Joon, Mrs Shailaja Joon, the Principal, Mrs. Shivani Sahni, and the valued parents in attendance. After the welcome song and the dance performance on Ganesh Vandana by the students, the members of the Students' Council entered the hall in a grand manner doing march-past, led by the Head Girl. The Head Boy - Tushar Malik, Head Girl - Anushka Aggarwal, Sports Captains - Vansh Rathee and Ayushi, Vice Sports Captain - Vishesh Yadav, Cultural Secretary - Payal Dalal, Vice Cultural Secretary - Udit Vats, House Captains - Dev Aggarwal ( Radhakrishnan House), Lakshay Ahuja ( Tagore House), Prital Dahiya ( Teresa House) and Anubhav Sachan ( Vivekananda House) were all ceremoniously adorned with sashes and badges. Then the street play on "Save Trees" was performed by the very talented students of class VI B. Finally, our Principal ma'am gave her enriching speech appreciating and encouraging the newly formed students' council to lead by example so that they set a trend for their juniors to follow. The ceremony ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Academic Head Mrs. Shilpy Chaddha, followed by a small arrangement for lunch for the parents.
